How does temperature affect the taste of wines?
Temperature has an important effect on the taste of wines. When wines are too cold, they can taste dull and acidic, while too warm wines can be overly sweet and lack complexity. The ideal temperature for most wines is between 10 - 18 degrees Celsius. Lower temperatures are best for sparkling wines, acidic white wines and light-bodied reds; while higher temperatures are better for full-bodied reds and dessert wines. Serving wines at the right temperature can bring out their full flavour potential.
